Elderly woman suffers punctured lung after being hit by Mercedes
An elderly woman is in a serious but stable condition in hospital after being hit by a car.
The woman, who police say is in her 70s, suffered a punctured lung and multiple fractures after being struck by a Mercedes on Watery Lane in Ashton-on-Ribble, Preston.
Police confirmed an investigation is underway involving the driver of the car, although no arrests have been made.

Hide AdA Lancashire Police spokesman said: "We were called to Watery Lane in Preston at around 6.25pm on Friday (March 10) to reports of a pedestrian had been struck by a car.
"The woman suffered a number of fractures as well as a punctured lung and is now in a stable but serious condition in hospital."
