Body found in South Ribble field
The body of a man has been found in a field in Longton, say police.
Officers were called to the scene just off Chapel Lane, near to a local primary school at around 7.45pm on Tuesday, July 17.
Police say the death is not being treated as suspicious.
A police spokesman said: "We were called to reports that a man's body had been found in a field off Chapel Lane.
"Officers and paramedics attended but sadly, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
"The man has not yet been formally identified."
Police say a file has been passed to the coroner.
