Top tribute acts are thrilling the audience at Rockprest

The venue is staging Rockprest - the UK’s biggest free rock tribute festival.

Some of the biggest tribute acts in Europe are playing on two stages, over two days of crowd-surfing, chorus-chanting, festival fun.

There are bars, food stands, a market, a children’s area and thrill rides.

And organisers say it’s already been a big hit.

Acts that took to the stage yesterday included Mentallica, Guns or Roses and ACDC Experience.

Today, performances are coming from, among others, Supreme Queen, Flew Fighters and Speak & Spell.

Jools Taylor, of the festival, said: “It’s been a great success. We got a really good turnout yesterday, 6,000 came out and the weather held off.

“It’s been really well received.”

He said the feedback from the audience was good: “Brilliant, really good - a fantastic response.”

The first bands fired up at noon, with the last play at 10pm.

The free event calls for just a £2.90 booking fee.
