Tony bows out with a showstopper

CHARITY impressario Tony Slater is to hang up his microphone after 50 years raising cash on the stage.

And the Preston event organiser and entertainer is promising a farewell show to remember in the Great Room at Preston North End on April 2.

“It gets harder every day to produce and sell a show,” said Tony. “But I’ve had a great time. I’m going to miss it.”

His swansong will be a cabaret and disco starring leading Robbie Williams tribute act Tony Lewis and, of course, Tony himself.

Proceeds from the event will go towards publishing a book which he plans to sell in aid of three deserving local charities, St Catherine’s Hospice, Derian House and Baby Beat. Tickets are £10 each from Tony on 07703475258 or 01772 200181.
