Chorley Council has been successful in securing the extra funding to ensure the swimming pool stays fit for the future, enabling work to take place to improve the efficiency of the 100-year-old building.

However, due to the pool’s temporary closure from Monday, June 8, adjustments have been made to the swimming timetable at All Seasons Leisure Centre.

A spokesperson for Chorley Council said: “We have made some adjustments to our swimming timetable at All Seasons Leisure Centre to accommodate as much of our valued Chorley Community as possible during this period.

“This new timetable has been updated on our website and our booking system so you are all able to start booking the new time slots ready for next week.”

They added: “We can't wait to welcome you all to All Seasons Leisure Centre and we thank you for your ongoing support and patience during this transition period.”

In addition to the £600,000 already invested into the modernisation of the facility, this money, secured from the governments' Public Sector Decarbonisation Fund, will pay for a roof replacement, installation of solar panels and the removal of gas boilers to make the building more energy efficient and sustainable for future generations to enjoy.

Once work has completed, opening hours are set to be extended, increasing access to public swimming and group classes.

Work will be carried out from Monday for a period of 16 weeks, during which the pool will close, before reopening with extended hours.
