Thug dragged his girlfriend out of bed by her hair
A THUG dragged his girlfriend out of bed by her hair after accusing her of being unfaithful, a court heard.
Biaron Cross, 26, of Old Station Close, Grimsargh, near Preston threatened to “boot” the frightened woman out of the window when she eventually called the police after a night of being repeatedly assaulted.
Cross, who pleaded guilty to assault via video link at Preston Magistrates’ Court, had been to a friend’s house in Deepdale on January 8 with his victim.
Prosecuting, Tracy Yates, said: “During the night he became angry and argumentative. She fell asleep in her friend’s spare room.
“She was woken by him grabbing her by hair and pulling her out of bed and shouting at her. She says they both left the address and walked to another friends’. He punched and elbowed her to the face.”
The court heard they arrived at around 2.30am at the man’s house, where they planned to stay over.
But at 7.20am she was again woken with him elbowing her and accusing her of sleeping with one of his friends.
As she called police, he threatened to boot her out of the window. The woman, who believed she was in the early stages of pregnancy, fled the property crying as officers arrived.
Photographs of her injuries were shown to Deputy District Judge Pamela Baldwin.
Cross also admitted stealing a Tom Tom, mobile phone, Christmas gifts and an iPad worth £835 from a Ford Cougar car belonging to a Preston mum between December 2 and 3.
Defending, John Didsbury described him as a “complex character”.
He said: “He entered into a relationship too early and it wasn’t long at all – because of the problems creeping in – that his involvement with mental health services started to wane. He stopped taking his medication and things started to unravel.”
She imposed a rehabilitation requirement and ordered him to pay £400 compensation.
