A spokesman for the force said one, believed to be a Ford Focus, hit a central reservation at around 7.50am.

Two others were reported to have left the road and be in a roadside ditch, he added.

An ambulance has been called to the scene.

The accident came as wind, rain, and hail battered the Fylde coast.
