The history of the “Moors murderers” told by Bob Spiers
On October 16, 1965, Society member Bob Spiers, was a young policeman searching the Saddleworth moors as part of the search for the bodies of the victims of the “Moors murderers.”
In a day that shook the world, Bob discovered the body of the youngest victim Lesley Ann Downey, 10, which subsequently was a vital part of the investigation leading to the capture of Ian Brady and his accomplice, Myra Hindle.
