These faces represent the darker side of our community and serve as a reminder of the consequences of criminal behaviour:

5. Karen Foster
Karen Foster killed a nine-month-old Harlow Collinge by shaking him to death in Burnley. The 62-year-old was sentenced to 12 years and seven months in prison for his manslaughter. | Lancashire Police

6. Austin Duckworth
Austin Duckworth forced his way into his dad's house in Preston in August 2023 "and repeatedly punched him to the head", Lancashire Police said. His father Stephen Duckworth, 72, was taken to hospital where he was found to have a bleed on his brain and he died on October 12. Duckworth, 37, of no fixed address, was convicted of murder following a five-day trial at Preston Crown Court. He was jailed for 17 years in April this year. | Lancashire Police

7. Jason Gowen
Jason Gowen murdered his girlfriend in a savage attack in Chorley and then filmed her naked as she lay dying. The 28-year-old was said to have carried out a vicious and sustained assault on Fiona Robinson, 37, and then tried to cover up his guilt by pretending to do CPR on her lifeless body when emergency services arrived. Gowen eventually pleaded guilty to her murder, which happened while he was on bail for another brutal case of domestic violence against a previous partner. Gowen was given a life sentence at Preston Crown Court in January, with Judge Robert Altham ordering he must stay behind bars until at least 2043 before being considered for parole. | Lancashire Police

8. Peter Alan Barnes
Peter Alan Barnes was found guilty of 43 sexual offences against five children and one woman. A jury found the 57-year-old guilty of the offences after he appeared at Preston Crown Court in June. He admitted to a further offence against a second adult victim before the trial started. The offences spanned four decades. Barnes, from Accrington, was jailed for 24 years. He was also given an extended six-year licence period. | Lancashire Police
