This gallery features a collection of 62 individuals who were jailed in Lancashire in 2024 for a range of serious crimes, including murder, rape, theft, drug dealing and violent offenses.
These faces represent the darker side of our community and serve as a reminder of the consequences of criminal behaviour:

45. Stuart Shorrock
Stuart Shorrock, of Pope Lane, Preston, was jailed after he was found engaging in sexual activity with an underage girl. A 15-year-old girl was reported missing in May last year. She was tracked to the Sleeperz Hotel in Newcastle following a police investigation. CCTV captured Stuart Shorrock checking them in using false names. Officers entered their hotel room and found evidence of sexual activity. Shorrock was subsequently arrested for sexual exploitation of the girl. He was jailed for four and a half years at Newcastle Crown Court in February. | British Transport Police

46. Robert Garrity
Robert Garrity was jailed for 24 years at Preston Crown Court after being convicted of a series of sexual offences against young girls. Garrity was described by a judge as a “highly determined sexual predator” when he appeared for sentence following a trial. The 67-year-old had been found guilty of three offences of rape and three more of sexual activity with children under the age of 16. | Lancashire Police

47. Craig Hodgson
Craig Hodgson groomed his young victim, plying her with alcohol and paying her £10 for a kiss. He went on to rape her when she was just 13 years old. The offences happened in the Blackburn area in 2002 but were reported to the police in 2018. Hodgson had denied rape and indecent assault but was found unanimously guilty by a jury after a trial at Preston Crown Court in October this year. The 56-year-old was sentenced to nine years and six months for the rape and six months concurrent for the indecent assault at the same court on Friday. Hodgson, of Railton Avenue, Blackburn, will also be on the sex offenders’ register for life. | Lancashire Police

48. Ashley McPhee
Ashley McPhee sexually assaulted a 14-year-old girl in Darwen by biting her chest three times on August 11, 2023. The 26-year-old was quickly arrested once his offending came to light. He was also found in possession of a knife when he was detained. While on remand in prison he wrote a letter to his victim. McPhee, of no fixed address, appeared at court earlier this year and pleaded guilty to engaging in sexual activity with a child. He was jailed for ten months. McPhee was also made subject of a ten-year sexual harm prevention order and told to sign the sex offenders register for the next ten years. | Lancashire Police
