Only part of the car park will close.

The lower part of a car park in Chorley is earmarked to close soon for water works.

Water Street car park lower section only will be closed from Monday, September 14, for five days while United Utilities carry out essential works.

A spokesperson for Chorley Council said: “If you’re heading into town during this time, please use one of our alternative car parks.

“Thank you for your patience while these important works take place.”

Alernative car parks are as follows: Hollinshead Street (short stay).

Portland Street (short stay).

Arley Street (long stay).

Friday Street (long stay).
