Swanky new car showroom and 6 other new applications this week in Chorley & South Ribble

Take a look at some of the most interesting new planning applications this week from near you - including a swanky new car showroom in Chorley

A long-established car sales business in Chorley could soon be operating from a swanky new showroom, if plans are given the green light.

Bosses at Motion Motor Company NW are seeking permission to demolish their existing buildings at 48 Market Street, Adlington, and replace them with a new two-storey building for the display and sale of motor vehicles.

The petrol station element of the site and its associated infrastructure is not affected by this proposal

The applicant says the provision of an internal showroom environment “offers clear benefits in terms of security of high-value vehicles, and improved customer experience.”

What will it look like?

The proposed building is described as being of a contemporary design with a flat roof, it will provide vehicle display areas at both ground and first floor levels, will include a car lift system for vehicle movement between floors, and will incorporate office and reception areas at ground floor level.

There will be no external car display area, A small area to the front of the building will provide approximately five customer parking spaces.

A decision will be made in coming weeks by Chorley Borough Council.
