The store, which mainly sells submarine sandwiches and salads, will be owned and operated by Fylde businessman Martin Gibson who also owns Subway stores in Clitheroe, Cleveleys, Kirkham and Bispham.

Martin said: "This is my fifth store opening and I am extremely proud to be expanding my portfolio of stores to meet the increasing demand in the area for the freshly prepared and made to order Subs. From the very start, I have always wanted to open a store here in Garstang, which I believe will give local residents and tourists alike, more choice and options with real value. We are employing local people and still have a couple of vacancies so those that are interested, please visit mysubwaycareer.com to apply.”

Martin opened his first store in Cleveleys, near Blackpool, in 2009, and has worked tirelessly to become the best performing franchisee in the region.

Last year he became Subway Owner of the Year for the Cheshire, Cumbria, Lancashire, Merseyside and Isle of Man regions and also sponsors swimming club Clitheroe Dolphins.
