St Catherine's Hospice thanks community for Yellow Day success as it shares pics & fundraising total

St Catherine’s Hospice has revealed the final amount raised during their annual Yellow Day summer fete as well as some jubilent photos from the event.

A well known hospice in Lancashire has thanked the community for its support following the success of its annual fair

Hundreds of visitors flocked to St Catherine’s Park in Lostock Hall on Sunday (June 7) for the annual Yellow Day garden fete.

The event is held to thank supporters of St Catherine’s Hospice, with a packed day of family fun, including duck races on the river, classic cars, circus skills, children’s fair, inflatables, character meet and greets, artisan stalls and top entertainment.

Yellow Day also helps to raise money for the Hospice, and this year the final total is set to be well over £16,000.

Nikee Rolfe, Community and Events Fundraising Lead for St Catherine's Hospice, said: "Well over 1,100 people from our local communities came to St Catherine's Park for family fun and some top-class entertainment. The atmosphere was amazing! And to also raise an incredible £16,000 for local end-of-life care was certainly the icing on the cake. Big thank you to the local individuals and organisations who made this day such a success."

One of the most popular stands was one giving visitors chance to dedicate a Yellow Ribbon to a loved one they have lost.

The ribbons are tied to structures in St Catherine’s Park and create a poignant and beautiful display for June and July.

As well as sharing their gratitude to the community following last weekend’s event, St Catherine’s shared some photos from the event which you can take at next.

One of the Lancashire Post’s photographers was also able to head down on the day and you can peruse those photos here.
