Speeding vehicle pursuit abandoned
Traffic police gave up an early hours motorway chase due to the high speed of the vehicle they were pursuing.
A patrol spotted a Ford Mondeo travelling on the M6 northbound close to junction 31 shortly after 4am today.
When the car spotted police it made off at excess speed.
It was pursued along the M6 and M55.
Police put in place tactics to try and stop the vehicle close to junction 4 of the M55.
It left the motorway at junction 3 at Kirkham.

Hide AdA police spokesperson said it was too risky to continue the chase due the high speed at which the car was travelling.
They said: “It was travelling at excess speed and we abandoned pursuit and the vehicle carried on.”
