The equipment, installed earlier this year, was a joint venture between the Central My Neighbourhood Forum, Farington Parish Council, Lancashire County Council, and ABL Health. South Ribble Coun Phil Smith said: “I’m very pleased the community is now able to use this excellent facility – enabling local residents to exercise, enjoy the outdoors, and live healthier lives.”Farington Parish Councillor Mike Otter added: “I’ve been encouraged by the numbers of people I’ve already seen using the new equipment. It’s a great local asset.”Amanda Skuse, 37, a footballer with Penwortham Town Ladies’ Team, said: “The new gym equipment is really good and gives everybody something to do – especially in the summer. It’ll be brilliant for children and teenagers to use.”
