Councillors and community members were given a gym induction with a twist at the new outdoor equipment at Farington Park.
The fun session was held by South Ribble Council with the help of ABL Health. The equipment, installed earlier this year, was a joint venture between the Central My Neighbourhood Forum, Farington Parish Council, Lancashire County Council, and ABL Health.
South Ribble Coun Phil Smith said: “I’m very pleased the community is now able to use this excellent facility – enabling local residents to exercise, enjoy the outdoors, and live healthier lives.”
Farington Parish Councillor Mike Otter added: “I’ve been encouraged by the numbers of people I’ve already seen using the new equipment. It’s a great local asset.”
Amanda Skuse, 37, a footballer with Penwortham Town Ladies’ Team, said: “The new gym equipment is really good and gives everybody something to do – especially in the summer. It’ll be brilliant for children and teenagers to use.”
