The Italian eaterie in the Guild Hall arcade shuts its doors on Sunday to make way for a new concept steak restaurant.

Full details are being kept under wraps but Guild Hall owner Simon Rigby said the new restaurant will be run by ‘national operators with strong local ties’.

“They were drawn to our flagship unit and are taking a long lease,” said Mr Rigby.

“As this is going to be so good for Preston and The Guild Hall I have agreed the let.”

Mr Rigby acquired the Guild Hall and adjoining arcade from Preston City Council in 2014.

He added: “Due to the work we have done on The Guild Hall including operating the units ourselves, you know us as operators but in fact our core business is being a landlord.”

Mr Rigby confirmed that Vittoria’s at Kirkham is unaffected.
