Sink hole appears in Heysham
Repair work is being carried out after a sink hole appeared on Knowlys Road in Heysham.
Lancashire County Council’s highways team were at the scene carrying out investigations on Tuesday January 19.
A spokesman for Lancashire County Council, said: “We have carried out excavations to investigate the cause of the collapse and are satisfied that it’s not due to the structure of the road or the drains.
“We’ve asked United Utilities to attend the site to establish whether it could be due to a problem with the sewer pipe.”
Repair work is still taking place.
