Shop run by Saffie's family is up for sale

And the Roussos family and friends are prioritising finding the correct buyer for The Plaice fish and chip shop on Hough Lane, Leyland.

Close family friend Mike Swanson, who owns adjoining business SOS Computing, is currently handling the sale.

Mike said: “It’s the end of an era.”

The 38-year-old added: “We want it to go to someone who will maintain it in its current format. So many people will tell you it’s the best chippy in town.”

The Roussos family’s wish is for the chippy to renamed Saffie’s Plaice, cementing the legacy of their daughter in the local community.

The youngster was a well-known and popular figure around the shop where her parents worked.

Saffie’s parents,Lisa and Andrew, are still spending significant time on hospital grounds as Lisa continues her recovery from the attack by suicide bomber Salman Abedi at the Manchester  Arena on May 22.

To mark what would have been Saffie’s ninth birthday on July 4, family and friends gathered outside family’s chip shop, releasing balloons in her memory.
