The couple met at Preston Golf Club many years ago where their fathers are members.

At the time Sam, now a doctor, worked at the halfway hut selling sandwiches and cakes.

Their paths crossed again on a night out in Preston and romance blossomed.

They became engaged in Nantes, France, in 2017

They were heading down to the ferry when their camper van broke down meaning they had to catch a plane. But the engagement went according to plan.

Their wedding day dawned to beautiful sunshine.

Chris had given Sam’s dad a pearl necklace and earrings for her to wear on their day and preparations got underway.

Sam said: “The wedding cars arrived and the roads were empty as it was Lostock Hall carnival on the day – it made me feel like the carnival queen!

Chris arrived at Brockholes to meet all their friends and family before watching his bride walk down the aisle with her dad to Can’t Help Falling In Love With You’.

“We emotionally said our vows to each other in front of 95 of our nearest and dearest, sharing our first kiss as husband and wife in front of everyone,” said Sam.

Canapes, fizz and photos followed whilst some guests started to watch the World Cup tie between England and Sweden.

Sam’s dad had organised a magician called Jason Rea to entertain guests.

They had a wedding breakfast with funny and heart-warming speeches and celebrations continued to midnight before the couple headed off on their honeymoon.

Chris, who is a furniture maker, said: “It was an amazing day surrounded by friends and family, at the perfect venue, with the perfect weather and the most perfect bride. The best day ever.”

Sam added: “The most perfect day in every way, absolutely magical, I couldn’t have dreamt of anything better – the best day of our lives so far.”

The couple now live in Fulwood.
