They said: “We have some very heartbreaking news to share today. Due to ongoing financial challenges, our animal centre in Altham, Accrington, will be closing its doors at the end of March this year - UNLESS we can raise a substantial amount of funds and secure regular donations and corporate sponsorship.

“This facility, dedicated to rehabilitating and rehoming the most neglected animals since the early 1970s, will cease operations.”

They added: “We will transition to a foster-based rescue model, which will significantly limit our ability to support our Inspectors in caring for the vulnerable and neglected animals they rescue - often those with challenging behaviors and complex needs.

“Our team here at Altham is devastated, and we are reaching out to you, our valued supporters, for any assistance you can provide.”

There are a number of ways to help the team raise the much needed capital by March.
