Road closure after concrete falls from bridge in Blackpool

Part of Bonny Street has been shut off in Blackpool after concrete fell from the foot bridge yesterday, April 24.

Images appeared to show concrete that had fallen from a bridge on Bonny Street, Blackpool

And now images reveal that the road has been temporarily closed directly beneath the footbridge where the slabs of concrete had fallen.

The bridge, which runs behind the Pump and Truncheon pub, provides a footpath leading from Brunswick Street over Bonny Street and down to Bonny Street car park.

It is understood that the clumps of concrete fell from the bridge yesterday, Saturday 24, as onlookers watched.

Blackpool Council have been contacted for more information and updates on the closure.
