Reward: thieves steal designer's life's work

Deanna Spurr is offering a reward for the safe return of her 27in. Apple iMAC and its contents which has more than 16 years of her work stored on it and tens of thousands of graphics.

“If I don’t get it back, I might just have to give the business up,” said self-employed Deanna.

The mother-of-three’s house in Hayhurst Street, Clitheroe, was burgled on Friday evening.

The thieves, who appear to be two lads aged between 14 and 16, have been captured on CCTV strolling along the backs of Hayhurst Street around 9-30pm carrying Deanna’s iMAC and her 14-year-old daughter Kyra’s new PlayStation.

After loitering on the corner of Hayhurst Street, the CCTV footage shows they are no longer carrying the stolen items. They are then seen crossing over Littlemoor Road and climbing up the road’s grass verge.

“I’ve not got a lot, but what I do have I’ve worked really hard for,” added Deanna.

“It has really affected both myself and my daughter who is now scared to be in her own home.

“After the burglary, I just sat in my house on Saturday night with all the lights off checking Facebook as I was too scared to put the lights on in case someone was watching me.”

Deanna was at home on Friday before going to The Stirk House, Gisburn, around 3pm to help set up a wedding fair. She came home around 7pm and, half an hour later, caught a taxi to take her on an evening out. This is the first time Deanna, who had a hip operation recently, has been out in months.

Coincidentally her husband Dave was away in Berlin and her daughter Kyra had arranged a sleep over at her friend’s house.

“I dread to think what could’ve happened if Kyra had been home alone,” said Deanna, who returned home at midnight to find her house burgled.

“Someone must’ve known I was going to be out and the house was going to be empty.”

Thieves entered Deanna’s house through the kitchen window before ransacking the kitchen and Ribblesdale High School pupil Kyra’s bedroom from which they also stole £50.

More than 3,600 people have so far shared the news about the incident on Facebook after Deanna appealed to locals for their help.

“The response has been immense with loads of people sharing my post and leaving messages of support,” said Deanna, whose husband Dave, a former chef, also works alongside Deanna for her graphic design business.

Now Deanna would like to hear from anyone else who lives in the area, particularly on Littlemoor Road, who has CCTV and maybe more footage of the two offenders.

Sgt Craig Jarrett said active lines of inquiry are still being pursued.

“There is CCTV footage of the offenders leaving the scene,” said Sgt Jarrett, who added that a forensic investigation of the scene had also been carried out.
