Reminder to motorists over road closures

Flensburg Way, Farington, towards Longmeanygate from the 'Tank' Roundabout

Road users are reminded that sections of the B5253 Flensburg Way in Farington will be temporarily closed from Friday, as part of improvement work to a landmark roundabout.

Work is well underway to improve the junction at Flensburg Way and Penwortham Way- also known as the ‘Tank roundabout’.

Improvement work has mostly taken place so far on the eastern side of the roundabout. The next stage of the work involves the completion of the carriageway construction and surfacing work on Flensburg Way, between the roundabout and Longmeanygate.

To carry out this work safely and effectively, daytime and night time temporary road closures will be put in place.

The southbound lane will be closed between 9pm today and 8pm on April 21.

On April 21 to 22, there will be a full closure of Flensburg Way in both directions.

From 6am - 8pm on April 22, the southbound lane will be closed.

From 8pm on April 22 to 6am on April 23, there will be a full closure, with the southbound lane remaining closed until 9pm or until the work is complete.

Diversions will be in place.
