The couple, of Lostock Hall, are family orientated and made sure everyone shared their special day.

They married on the same day as Chris’ late grandparents, who would have been celebrating their 67th wedding anniversary on the day.

Elizabeth and her mum made the wedding cake, her dad, a jeweller, crafted the rings and Chris’ brother drove the groom to the ceremony in his own beautifully restored VW Beetle.

They met at a mutual friend’s house party when they were just 16. Fast forward to September 2015 and Chris proposed at their joint 21st birthday party.

They tied the knot at Shaw Hill Golf and Spa Hotel, surrounded by their family and friends, including the bride’s sister who had flown in from Canada for the big day.

Elizabeth,23 said: “I was thinking about the whole day and everyone told me that before I went in to get married I would be really nervous.

“But when I got there and stood outside the door with my bridesmaids and parents all I could think about was going in to see Chris.

“Looking back now I can’t even remember seeing the 53 guests sat there watching us or what the room looked like, my mind was just set on getting married and watching for Chris’ reaction when he saw me for the first time. I would say to anyone getting married - don’t worry about things going wrong because chances are no body else will notice. Also the bride and groom should grab one or two minutes on their own just to take in everything and let it sink in that they are now married. And also for the bride, make sure she goes and looks at herself in a mirror and take in every detail of her dress, hair, make-up ,shoes everything because the day flies by and you forget how beautiful you look! A highlight for me though, which is actually captured on video, we where outside having photos taken and my veil flew off my hair and chris managed to catch it! Chris, 23, added: “The part of the day I remember and find most special was the cake cutting because it was at that point we had all our friends and family around us, watching and cheering for us. It’s a lovely to think all those people where there for me and Lizzie, they had literally travel around the world just to see us on the happiest day of our lives.”
