Rail disruption in Lancashire
Rail passengers were today warned of disruption on the West Coast main line north of Preston.
Virgin Trains said that owing to engineering works not being finished on time between Lancaster and Oxenholme Lake District, all lines will be blocked.
Disruption is expected until 9pm tonight.
Currently Euston to Scotland services will terminate at Preston and Scotland to Euston services will terminate at Oxenholme.
A Virgin spokesman apologised for the delays,
It is believed replacement bus services are being laid on.
