Three people had to be treated by ambulance crews after a fire broke out in a bedroom of a terraced home in Osborne Street shortly before 7pm last night (February 7).

Two fire engines from Penwortham and Preston were called out and crews wearing breathing apparatus tackled the fire with a hose reel and ventilation unit.

Paramedics also attended and treated three people at the scene, but hospital treatment was not required.

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service said the cause of the fire is under investigation.
