Preston expat features in new series about Brits abroad

The Channel 5 programme, Bargain-Loving Brits In The Sun, will feature 21-year-old Ben Rigby, from Fulwood, who runs a mobility scooter business.

On February 2, the show catches up with Ben to see how he’s getting on. It shows Ben’s booming business but unfortunately he’s having other issues.

A spokesman for the show said: “Ben runs the only British-owned mobility scooter business in Benidorm.

“Business is great but the same can’t be said for Ben’s love life – he’s heartbroken following a break-up with his girlfriend of three-and-a-half years.

“Ben’s been drowning his sorrows regularly and word has got back to his dad Mick Clarkson back in the UK who boards a flight out to sort his son out.”

Ben runs the business with his friend Charles and although Benidorm is touted as the number one place for mobility scooters in the world, he has found stiff competition for business.

He goes on to say how a holiday turned into a permanent move to the Valencia region after admitting to be attracted to the lifestyle local residents were living.
