Labour party leader Jeremy Corbyn met protesters yesterday who have been a near-constant presence near the Cuadrilla drilling rig since the company was given the go-ahead to start fracking in October 2016.

These were the scenes at the Preston New Road site, where Mr Corbyn called for an immediate ban on fracking.
