The café had initially been granted permission to built a much bigger shelter from brick and timber at the rare of the premesis.

However, owners have now submitted revised plans to Preston City Council.

Planning documents from officers at Preston City Council state: “The design for the proposed smoking shelter has evolved from a canopy design over the two third of the rear yard to the proposed centrally place and smaller container design.”

Agent Nadeem Bapu of SAP Architectural Designs made the application on behalf of Smoke & Grill in the city centre.

Plans had been approved for a timber smoking shelter and brick boundary wall around the perimeter of the site. The shelter was covering an irregular quadrilateral shaped part of the existing car park.
