13 behind-the-scenes pictures of the new Leyland council houses that attracted 10,000 bids

When applications for almost two dozen new council homes in Leyland were opened last month, the system was swamped with people wanting to put their name down for one of the dwellings.

Almost 10,000 bids were made for the properties, on Quin Street, in the space of just five days.

Now, South Ribble Borough Council has opened the doors of one of the houses to the Lancashire Post – and we took a look around.
