Police sergeant frustrated by ‘disgraceful’ park parties

A Garstang and Wyre Police sergeant has aired her views on “disgraceful” unauthorised parties in a park.

Sgt Danielle Freaney took to Facebook to post a picture of a park bench full of alcohol at Garstang’s Millennium Green branding the activities as “frustrating”.

She also sympathised with the Garstang Millennium Green Trust, which looks after the park, saying that many areas, including benches and trees had been damaged.

Sgt Freaney said: “These photos have been passed to us by kind volunteers and members of the Garstang Millennium Green Trust.

“It is a disgrace and should not be happening in this day and age or in our beautiful Wyre area!

“These activities are frustrating trustees and volunteers with the damage which is occurring in the family area and surrounding trees.”

Sgt Freaney encouraged anyone who sees any vandalism occurring to call 101 at the time or email on [email protected]
