Shortly after 3pm yesterday (Saturday) police received reports of a disturbance involving a number of men outside an address in Stroyan Street.

It is believed that during the incident a firearm was shot through the front window of the address, causing damage to the property. No one was injured as a result of the discharge. Officers carried out a full search of the address and remainedat the scene while enquiries continue. It is believed that the incident could be linked to earlier reports of a disturbance outside an address in nearby Brockenhurst Street at around midday yesterday where a number of people were seen with knives. Detectives are keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed either incident or who has any information that could assist with their on-going enquiries.
