The news reached Jacob Nelson who is currently on holiday with his family.

Posting on the Spud Bros Facebook page, he urged his many followers to stay safe.

He said: “Yesterday I saw that someone camped outside 15 hours for a jacket potato and while we absolutely love the support, we wouldn’t recommend anyone camping out 15 hours for a jacket potato.

“I know people want to be first because we do give giveaways to the first customers at the event, we might have to think about how we do this expecially younger people camping out 9pm the following night all the way through.”

He added: “We want you to be safe. I guess me being a parent and we have got a huge following we have got a massive responsibility to make sure the tram fam are safe. So please don’t be camping out until the early hours of the morning.

“We are at the Trafford Centre until Saturday 12-8pm and we have got other events and tours booked in very soon

“There’s enough spud love to go around everybody.”
