Plea after Lancashire pub raided

Police have launched an appeal for help after a burglar broke into a pub and stole a large amount of cash.

The raid happened at the Black Horse in Gregson Lane, Hoghton, near Preston, between midnight and 7am on Friday, February 5th.

Officers say the offender smashed a window at the rear of the property and got into the ground floor before breaking into a fruit machine and making off with coins and notes worth around £1,000.

PC Dave Senior, of Preston Police, said: “We are keen to hear from anyone who may have information that could help us with our enquiries.

“The Black Horse Hotel is in a residential area and somebody out and about in the vicinity during the time period in question may have seen something that could prove extremely helpful to our investigation.

“We are urging anyone with information about the incident to get in touch.”
