A pizza takeaway could be on its way to Ashton-on-Ribble if plans to change a vacant shop into a hot food store get the green light.

If the application is granted the new takeaway in Blackpool Road would also include a delivery service.

Planning documents state: “The site has been unoccupied since at least late 2015.

“There are other hot food vendors nearby, encouraging customers requiring sustenance to this area.

“The building is easily accessible on foot and cycle from all directions.

“The building is well served by public transport and lies on or adjacent to several bus routes.

“The nearby location of other hot food vendors such as Domino’s Pizza, Health Kick’s Kitchen, Greggs, Dragon Inn and Subway means that the proposed establishment would not be out of place and would not adversely affect the amenities of any of the surrounding occupants.”

The property, a small two-storey inner terrace, is situated close to the junction of Woodplumpton Road, Tulketh Brow and Blackpool Road.
