Plans for a new Toys R Us in Lytham St Annes submitted to Fylde Council
and on Freeview 262 or Freely 565
Last week, a planning application was submitted for 29-31 St Annes Road West in Lytham St Annes for “advertisement consent for two non-illuminated fascia signs and one non illuminated window vinyl sign.”
That address is part of the existing WHS Smith store whose address reads as 29-35 St Annes Road West currently.

Hide AdThe plan’s drawings reveal that the signs in question are for a Toys R US St Annes store, with the well known brand logo being plastered on the front of the building, to the left of a reduced WHS Smith sign.
The Toys R Us store will sit inside the WHS Smith across both the first and second floor.
The planning application states that the fascia signs, which have a blue and white background featuring text in various colours, will be 11.14 metres in width, 0.725 metres in height and have a depth of 0.05 metres.
The leftside fascia sign depicts the well known Toys R US logo on a white background and the rightside is the white WHS logo on a blue background.

Meanwhile the window vinyl also has a blue background with multi-coloured text and will be 1.425 metres in width, 2.25 meatres in height and have a depth of 0.01 metres.
According to the plan’s drawings, this window vinyl will depict a cartoon giraffe alongside a signpost that reads ‘Toys R Us In store Now at WHS Smith”.
The application adds that the proposed signs are just the intitial drawings and have not been approved yet.
Consent for the advertisment is also sought from July 29 2024 until July 29 2029.
