Plans for 26 homes off Pudding Pie Nook Lane in Goosnargh were rejected last year, against the advice of officers at Preston Council.

Now the application from Falgoza SA has been re-submitted, this time with 24 homes, and has been revised following its earlier refusal.

Katie Delaney, of agents PWA Planning, said: “Essentially, this is a very similar scheme to the one that we submitted last time and that had the support of planning officers. However, we’ve listened to the concerns raised by local councillors and made some changes, including a proposal to make a third of the development affordable housing, a third starter homes, and a third open-market housing. The submitted layout for the development of this previously developed site includes eight bungalows to meet local needs for elderly accommodation.”

Julie Buttle, clerk to Whittingham Parish Council, said the plans would be considered at a meeting next week, and said: “The decision we came to last time was it’s not a sustainable location.”
