The Lostock Hall charity is keen to hear from people interested in representing the hospice at the Great Edinburgh city centre 10k race on Sunday April 17, the Great Manchester 10k run on Sunday May 22 and the Great North Run Half Marathon on Sunday September 11.
The St Catherine’s fund-raising team will be on hand to provide tips and support to help runners collect sponsorship in return for their charitable efforts.
Emma Jacovelli, fund-raiser at the hospice, said: “As we approach the end of January we know that some people may be struggling to stick to their new year’s resolutions of exercising more and keeping fit!
“Signing up for a place in one of these runs could provide just the motivation you need to persevere and work towards your fitness goals.
“For those who are already seasoned runners, we’re asking you to consider using your passion and enthusiasm for running to raise vital funds for St Catherine’s.
“We can only deliver our specialised care to local people with life-shortening illnesses because of the support we get from people willing to put themselves to the test in the name of a good cause - we’d love to hear from people willing to go the distance for us this year.”
She added: “These events are some of the best-loved in the running calendar - the atmosphere is electric and there are so many well-wishers there spurring you on your way.
“We’d love to see lots of people proudly sporting their St Catherine’s T-shirts as they cross the finish line.”
