The Saturday morning parade, a procession of witness, wound its way through the streets of the towns, followed by fun and games at various venues – including the traditional funfair and the second KWCCFest family music festival at Kirkham and Wesham Cricket Club.

Committee spokesman Angela Hunter said: “Club day is a traditional family day with a long history of bringing together the churches in the town. It’s a special day for everyone and the people of Kirkham turn out in their hundreds to watch.

“It is an extremely social occasion with family members and friends who are no longer resident in the towns returning to be part of it.

“The committee would like to thank all those who both participate and assist with the organisation and marshalling which allows us to hold this annual event.”
