Wyre Scout Group are asking for community support to send their young people on the ‘trip of a life time’

A Garstang Scout Group based in Wyre are holding an array of fundraising events to help send three of their young people to South Korea for the World Scout Jamboree.

In Summer 2023 more than 40,000 scouts travelling from all over the world will travel for the event in Korea, with young people aged 14-17 attending.

Ben, Tori and James from Wyre Scouts group are looking to build funds of up to £4,000 to allow them to go on the summer trip. They are inviting the Garstang community to join in with a number of community based events to help get them to Korea.

The young people will hold a car wash on August 14 from 10-4 at the Carleton Scout Hut, in a bid to send them on a ‘trip of a lifetime’ to South Korea. The scouts will also look to raise money through a stall with tombola, crafts and activities at Great Eccleston show ground August 28-29. Duck race tickets are also now on sale for September 17 and the group are also selling tickets to win an original watercolour painting by a talented local artist for a draw to take place in December.

Wyre Scout group have said more Christmas activities will be held during November and December with more exciting events during early 2023.
