Following the death of Prince Philip on Friday aged 99, we decided to take a look at some of the activities across the county down the years.
. A novel idea
1981: Blackpool schoolteacher Bryan Smith has marked the Duke of Edinburgh's Award scheme's 25th birthday in a special way - by writing his first novel. Blizzard is based on the adventures of four youngsters in the Lake District attempting one of the stages in the Duke's Award.
