Snow Patrol to perform intimate one-off show in Preston
Rock superstars Snow Patrol are set to perform a special one-off gig in Preston.
The Northern Ireland indie-rock giants, famed for such hits as Chasing Cars and Run, are set to play at Preston's Blitz club on December 9.
It comes days after the 16-million record selling band finish a nationwide tour at London’s Royal Albert Hall to celebrate the launch of their new album Reworked.
The event was arranged through the band's record label and Gordon Gibson, owner of Action Records in Church Street.
Mr Gibson said: "When a band has an album to promote, they look for places to play gigs around the country.
"We were picked by the record company who know us and know we're reliable. Sometimes you get lucky and sometimes you don't, but in this case, we've been very lucky.
"It's a seriously special gig and fantastic news for Preston."
He added: "When it's a smaller band we do gigs in the shop, but when they're bigger like this, we are very lucky that my friend Peter Alexander from the Blitz nightclub is very accommodating. It's only 50 or 60 yards away from the shop and he has everything in place and a great set-up.
"This is a high-profile band, and everything has to be dead-on.
"We've been working on this for a while and we're hoping that it sells out with a real bang."
The live set from the band will be around 45 minutes in length and will feature songs from the new album ‘Reworked’, taking place on Monday, December 9.
Doors will open at 7pm, with the band due on stage at 7.30pm.
There are around 400 tickets available for the gig, available by buying the Reworked album from Action Records. One ticket available per album.
The event is suitable for people over the age of 14 only.
In a post on Facebook, Blitz, the Church Row-based club wrote: "THIS IS HUGE!
