Last night, crowds across the country celebrated in ecstasy as they watched football come home for the first time in over 50 years.

The Lionesses have won the Women’s European Championship, beating Germany 2-1 after extra-time in the final at Wembley.

With goals from Ella Toone and Chloe Kelly, the team’s win marks the country's first major trophy since the men's side won the World Cup in 1966.

Following the final whistle last night, Post readers were quick to share their thoughts online.
