A couple of weeks ago, the 14-year-old, who lives in Clitheroe, blew the judges away when he performed a gasp-inducing, time-travelling trick, which involved a deck of cards and two phones.

Jasper, who is a pupil of Ribblesdale High School, Clitheroe, received overwhelming praise from BGT judges Ashley Banjo, Amanda Holden, David Walliams and Alesha Dixon.

Despite captivating the entire nation and impressing the judges with his stunning performance, Jasper was in the judges' top three performers of the night, but missed out on a place in the finals. However, Jasper was up for the public vote, so there is a pretty good chance he have made the final. Viewers will find out tonight if he is taking centre stage to perform on Britain's Got Talent 2020 final.

So far the finalists already confirmed for the popular ITV show are comedian Nabil Abdulrashid, dance duo Aaron and Jasmine, comic singer Jon Courtenay, magician Magical Bones and comic juggler Steve Royle. Five more acts will be chosen by the public vote and will perform tonight for a chance to secure a £250,000 prize, plus the opportunity to perform at the Royal Variety Performance.

Staff and pupils from Ribblesdale High have their fingers crossed that Jasper gets through and are backing him all the way. The school's headteacher, Mrs Horrocks, said: "Everyone here at Ribblesdale is so pleased for Jasper.

"He is a great ambassador for the pupils of our school – and for all young people. The last few months have been really testing for children and teenagers. They’ve missed out on school, haven’t been able to spend time with their friends as they usually would and have had many of their hobbies and pastimes restricted. Jasper didn’t let this get him down or stop him following his dreams. He kept us all cheerful with his Magic Wednesdays throughout lockdown and his success in BGT is a massive morale boost for us all."

She added; Jasper is a great example of the resilience, resourcefulness, imagination and optimism of our young people. A vote for Jasper is a vote of confidence in our young people and the future of our country. No-one could be more deserving of a place in the final…. We’ve got everything crossed for him and we’ll all be voting for him if he gets through!

"Good luck Jasper – we’re so proud of you."
