Ribble Valley Police donate bike to 10-year-old Ukraine boy to play with new friends

A 10-year-old who has fled Ukraine has been gifted a bike by his local police force.

Nikita, from the besieged city of Kharkiv, is now able to get around in Longridge thanks to the town’s neighbourhood policing team, who have used some funding they secured to promote sustainable transport.

Ribble Valley Police posted on their Facebook page that “Nikita has already had lots of use of his new bicycle due to this lovely weather, and is very grateful for the opportunity to integrate with other children in the area who already have bicycles of their own”.

The post received a large and positive response from those who were happy for the young boy who can be seen smiling on his new bike.

Ribble Valley Police added: “We are continuing to seek appropriate places for the bicycles to be donated or used as a community resource, so keep your eyes peeled in the coming months to see more good news posts like this one!”
