Preston restaurant and takeaway donates Christmas meals to Royal Preston Hospital staff

Nawaab on New Hall Lane donated around 100 meals to Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust on Christmas Day.

It follows on from the business donating around 50 meals to the hospital earlier this year during the pandemic.

A spokesman for Nawaab said: "Over the last few months, we have all witnessed staff and colleagues across the NHS being under tremendous pressure trying their very best to look after those who have been infected by the virus.

"Staff have been working tirelessly from minute to minute, hour by hour, to make sure that patients are looked after in the same caring way we strive for, and we #TeamNawaabsPreston are immensely grateful for that. We have come to expect that NHS staff will go above and beyond to do the right things by their patients and are ready to work long tiring shifts in order to achieve this.

"We are extremely grateful to all NHS staff during this difficult time and we at #TeamNawaabsPreston want to say a huge thank you to the staff at every level for the work they have been doing collectively and are continuing to do in order to manage this period and working tirelessly to help those affected by COVID-19.

"To show our gratefulness towards the NHS COVID staff relentlessly continuing to provide the comfort and support to patients during these times, we donated food for 50 people as a small token of appreciation.

"During these unprecedented and unpredictable times given the emerge of the new strain of COVID-19, we want to show our appreciation for all the hard work, and continued efforts of the NHS who are working tirelessly to help prevent the further spread of the Coronavirus. A spokesman for Lancahire's NHS Trust said: "Frontline staff at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals are immensely grateful to a local Preston business - Nawaab Tandoori - for their kind donation of a vast amount of food and soft drinks."
