Penwortham dad is taking steps - 55,000 thousand of them - to raise cash for the NHS

A Penwortham dad of two is preparing to scale the equivalent height of Mount Everest by climbing a set of stairs, all in aid of the NHS.

David Rose, a national accounts manager for a delivery firm, said: “I’ll be climbing over 4,000 flights of stairs and over 55,000 steps in under 12 hours to raise money for the NHS.

“This distance is the equivalent of the height of Mount Everest. I’ll have the support of my neigbhour Matt Disney who recently climbed three times the height of Everest.

“I’d love to be able to make as much money as possible for the NHS.”

David, who lives with his partner Kelly, son Eddie, four, and daughter Ava, 11 months, is aiming to carry out the gruelling task on Saturday May 9.
