Little Emma, three, walks 30 miles for Chorley children's hospice

A three-year-old Chorley youngster has raised more than £500 in sponsorship for Derian House children's hospice after walking over 30 miles.

Little Emma Jolly, of Buckshaw Village, was inspired by her cousin Toby Wilson, six, who ran 'a half marathon' and raised £400 for a hospice in Warrington, where he lives.

Their grandparents were so proud of the pair they just wanted to let folk know of their achievements.

"Nana" Marian Jolly, of Belmont Drive, Chorley, explained: "My grandson lives in Warrington and his school set a challenge.

"He did a running half marathon."

The family thought it would be a good idea for Emma to fund raise when she was out walking, too - by doing the equivalent of a marathon at 26.2 miles.

"She walks four or five miles when she's out," said Marian.

"She started on May 17 and completed it on Sunday.

"She's actually gone over the marathon and did thirty miles."

Emma has made some £530 from her challenge.

Marian said: "She went out mostly with her mummy.

"She walked up to the top of Healey Nab and walked to the top of the Pike.

"At three it's remarkable."

She added: "Her mum took her to Derian House and told her where the money was going.

"Emma just said 'will that make them all get better."
